Mark Zuckerberg’s American firm will deploy Meta AI in the coming weeks, its generative artificial intelligence optimized for interactions on social networks and instant messaging. With almost 80% of French people connected to at least one of its social networks, Meta Ai will probably become the first experience of conversational AI for millions of users, succeeding the initial experience of Chatgpt. Meta’s goal is clear: to make artificial intelligence accessible and intuitive, directly within applications that users use daily.
In Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Messenger
After months of regulatory negotiations, the American giant begins the launch of its conversational assistant in 41 European countries, including France. If Meta has not yet communicated a specific date for France, the IA features should arrive “in the coming weeks.” In its official communication, the social networks giant recognizes a delay in ignition and tackles Europe: “It took us more time than expected to deploy our AI technology in Europe, because we continue to navigate a complex European regulatory system.”
Meta AI will be integrated directly into the four main social networks of the group: Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Messenger. Users will be able to recognize it thanks to a new blue icon and simply invoke it by typing “@Metaai” in a group conversation (on Messenger for example). The assistant can then help plan a trip, suggest dinner ideas, answer questions or even generate creative content. For example, in a WhatsApp group organizing vacation, users will be able to ask Meta AI to offer activities in Vancouver or to quickly translate a document. On Instagram, AI can help write legends or suggest content according to user’s interests.
On the other hand, at the launch in Europe and France, Meta AI will only be a stranded version of its American assistant. Several flagship features will initially be absent: generation of images, conversational memory or advanced creative capacities.

The European version of Meta Ai has amputated its most innovative features, including the generation of images and conversational memory. Content companies and creators will have to be satisfied with a simple textual chatbot, far from the creative capacities available for American users.
